On September 19th as part of the statewide recognition of Recovery Month, the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) organized a special event at Graveyard Pond Trail located in Presque Isle State Park.
This outdoor wellness initiative, aligned with DDAP’s nine Regional Recovery Hubs, encourages healing through nature. The event included a hike and kayaking tour, designed to support individuals in recovery by connecting them with Pennsylvania’s beautiful natural spaces.
In support of this event, Catholic Charities Counseling and Adoption Services (CCCAS) donated water bottles with CCCAS labels, which were made available to all participants.
This collaborative effort underscores the importance of recovery, community, and the healing power of nature.
