CCCAS Welcomes Our Lady of Peace 8th Grade Students for a Day of Outreach and Service

At Catholic Charities Counseling and Adoption Services (CCCAS), we had the immense pleasure of hosting the eighth-grade students from Our Lady of Peace (OLP) as part of their Outreach Day. These remarkable young individuals brought energy, compassion, and hard work to our Refugee Resettlement Department, and their contributions made a significant impact on our efforts to serve families in need.

The students assisted with a variety of tasks during their visit, demonstrating their dedication and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Their efforts included:

  • Packing and Sorting Clothing: The students carefully packed and sorted clothing in our clothing and decorations sorting room for three refugee families currently being supported by our agency.

  • Cleaning and Organizing: They swept, mopped, vacuumed floors, and helped organize spaces within our facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for the families we serve.

  • Furniture Management: The students helped move and sort furniture, preparing it to furnish homes for refugee families in need.

  • Building Connections: In a heartwarming moment, the students met with a couple of refugee families whose children were similar in age to them. This exchange highlighted the shared humanity that connects us all and offered a valuable cultural experience for everyone involved.

As a token of our appreciation, CCCAS gifted each student with a gift bag containing CCCAS-branded swag and snacks. This small gesture was our way of thanking them for their hard work and dedication.

This collaboration was truly a testament to the power of community and service. The students’ respectfulness, enthusiasm, and hard work were a shining example of the values that Our Lady of Peace instilled in its students.

On behalf of everyone at CCCAS, we extend our deepest gratitude to the students, faculty, and staff of Our Lady of Peace for their generosity and partnership. We look forward to future opportunities to work together and continue making a difference in the lives of refugee families.
